Alpine’s Franco Colapinto, Racing Bull’s Arvid Lindblad and Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto are all set for grid drops for the upcoming grand prix, after taking additional power unit components outside of their allowance inside the sporting regulations.

Both Colapinto and Bortoleto will be taking their fourth Control Electronics Unit, which is their first outside of this component’s allowance and will earn both drivers with a 10-place grid drop. Bortoleto will also take an additional Energy Store Unit, which will come with an additional 10-place grid penalty.

Lindblad, on the other hand, is set to take a new internal combustion engine, his sixth of the season – of an allowance of four. As such, he will be hit with a lesser penalty of five grid positions.

So, what extra components has each driver taken?

Franco Colapinto, Alpine – 10 place grid drop

  • 4th Control Electronics Unit [10-place drop]

Arvid Lindblad, Racing Bulls – 5 place grid drop

  • 6th Internal Combustion Engine

Gabriel Bortoleto, Audi – 20-place grid drop

  • 4th Internal Combustion Engine
  • 4th Turbocharger
  • 4th Exhaust
  • 4th Energy Store Unit [10-place drop]

However, they are not the only drivers to take new components. Three additional drivers; McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, Mercedes Kimi Antonelli, Williams Carlos Sainz, and Bortoleto, are set to take a new Power Unit Ancillary Component (PU-ANC).

Each driver taking a new PU-ANC remains within their allowance, meaning no grid drops will be award for this PU component.
