Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Race Results
26th September 2026Mercedes’ George Russell claimed his eighth career victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, narrowly beating Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen as seven drivers retired.

Mercedes controlled the Azerbaijan Grand Prix dominantly to provide Russell with a lights-to-flag performance at the Baku City Circuit, but it wasn’t without issues.
A total of seven drivers saw retirements across the 51-lap race, with crashes or reliability issues.
However, it was a tight finish at the chequered flag with Russell claiming the victory ahead of Verstappen, who finished 0.196s behind the race winner. Isack Hadjar completed a double podium finish for Red Bull, in his first race back from injury.
