Ferrari and Racing Bulls conclude latest round of Pirelli tests
17th September 2026Ferrari and Red Bull have been out on track, following the Spanish Grand Prix, concluding the latest round of Pirelli tyre tests at Imola.

Pirelli was once more back out on track at Italy’s Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit, more commonly known as Imola, for their latest rounds of dry-tyre tests ahead of the 2027 Formula 1 world championship season.
Unlike Tuesday, where only Ferrari were out on track, the Italian squad was joined by Racing Bulls out on the circuit for day two of the two-day programme.
For Ferrari, their World Endurance Championship, Antonio Giovinazzi controlled the scarlet red machine with Racing Bull’s Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad sharing their machinery.
As part of the programme, Lawson was the morning runner for Racing Bulls, followed by Lindblad in the afternoon.
The New Zealander completed performance runs on the C3 and C4 tyres before switching to long runs on the C4. Lindblad, on the other hand, followed a similar programme, with the C3 and C5 tyres.
Giovinazzi worked entirely on the C3 compound, carrying out qualifying simulations and long-distance stints.
The Italian champion tallied up the most laps of the test, completing 135 laps, with a best time of 1m 19.894s. This was followed by Lindblad, who clocked 73 laps, and the fastest lap of the day: 1m 18.454s. Lawson only managed to complete 65 laps, with the second fastest time of 1m 18.471s.
Across the test, including Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc’s runs for Ferrari on Tuesday, a total of 400 laps were completed, equalling around 1,963 kilometres in total distance.
Pirelli’s next tyre development test will take place at Magny-Cours, France, where they will use the circuit’s artificial watering system to ‘evaluate new solutions’ for wet-weather conditions.
