Dubbed the ‘Rally of Gods,’ the Greek event will be the first of many Gravel rallies which make up the rest of the 2026 world championship, having competed on the last tarmac event of the year in Japan, last time out.
Evans remains the championship leader, after winning the most recent event, Rally Japan, and having snatched the lead away from Takamoto Katsuta earlier in the season.
After securing the win in Rally Japan, Evans leads the world championship with 151 points to his name, 20 points ahead of Katsuta and 49 points in front of rally winner and teammate, Oliver Solberg.
The Welshman will head a very strong Rally1 line-up in Greece, as there will be 12 top-class competitors in the Greek event. So, who is set to be competing in Greece?
Toyota
Locking out the top five in the drivers’ championship, so far, Toyota are set to bring all five entries to Greece. Evans will lead the team with Katsuta, Solberg and Sami Pajari behind.
Sebastien Ogier will also continue to compete in Greece. The defending nine-time world champion will look to go one better than last time, having lost out to Hyundai’s former driver, Ott Tanak, in last year’s event.
Hyundai
It goes without saying that the South Korean manufacturer, as they have done all year, will utilise a three-car entry, with their regular drivers Adrien Fourmaux and Thierry Neuville leading the way.
Daniel Sordo, jumping in for Hayden Paddon, will compete in the third car. The Spaniard has already enjoyed a taste of gravel rallies this season, having taken part in Rally de Portugal, earlier this season.
M-Sport Ford
M-Sport will enter Greece with the biggest change to their line-up ahead of the event. The Cumbrian-based squad are set to bring in four Rally1 Pumas to greece, with their full-time drivers Jon Armstrong and Joshua McErlean competing in two of them.
Martins Sesks will return to the team for the event, having last competed in Portugal, and Jourdan Sederidis will complete the M-Sport line-up at his home event. Neither driver has been nominated for manufacturer points.
