On May 10, the world will compete in a run event to help bolster funds in researching cures for spinal cord injuries, and it will be actively supported by one of Red Bull’s backed squads, Racing Bulls. With one event set to take place in Faenza and the Red Bull Campus in Milton Keynes.

Open to participants of all levels, the event brings people together worldwide in a shared effort to support the cause. The Visa Cash App Racing Bulls is among the teams supporting the initiative, with its CEO, Peter Bayer, also acting as an ambassador for the foundation.

Participants start simultaneously around the world and, through the event’s app, can also take part remotely, following a virtual version of the experience from anywhere. It allows anyone to be part of the event, from professional athletes and experienced runners to beginners and wheelchair users, fostering a range of inclusivity.

In the announcement, Bayer said:

“We’re proud to support the Wings for Life World Run and help raise funds for research to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. By hosting App Run Events in Faenza and at the Red Bull Campus in Milton Keynes, we’re bringing together our team, employees, fans and local communities for a cause that truly matters.

“What makes this event special is its inclusivity — professional athletes, casual runners, beginners and wheelchair users can all take part, united by the same goal. Wherever people choose to run, every step helps move research forward and shows how sport can bring people together for something bigger.”

All funds raised go directly into research, reinforcing the event’s core purpose. Backed by the Wings for Life foundation, the initiative has supported scientific projects and clinical trials globally for over two decades.

Initiatives like these not only help raise awareness for important causes, but also bring fans and communities together beyond the race track. In doing so, they play a growing role in how Formula 1 teams build their identity and connect with a wider audience.

The Wings for Life World Run is a global race organised by Wings for Life, a foundation dedicated to funding research into spinal cord injuries. The event will take place on 10 May in Faenza, Italy, while UK-based team members will join from Milton Keynes at the Oracle Red Bull Racing Campus.
