Weather report: latest ahead of WRC Rally Sweden
11th February 2026The World Rally Championship is set to get underway once more this week with iconic, snowy Rally Sweden, as its local hero heads the championship.

Sweden is set to host the second round of the WRC this weekend as the wintery event takes the teams and crews through snow-laden forests. Regularly testing the crews on their ability to drive fast and precisely in the Swedish conditions.
The rally will consist of 18 stages that will cover 300.66km of snowy, challenging terrain.
Toyota’s Oliver Solberg, a Swedish national, will head the championship when the rally officially gets underway as the championship leader after he mastered similar conditions in the traditional opener, Monte Carlo.
However, according to BBC Weather, the forecast is set to be freezing across the weekend, with similar – and worse – conditions than they faced last time out in Monte.
So what is the forecast?
Thursday
Only one stage will set the scene in Sweden on the opening day, the 10.23km Umeå stage. As such, it is set to be overcast with thick cloud in the morning, making way for lighter clouds in the afternoon.
Temperatures are set to be below freezing, with them going as low as -20° with highs of -14°. Fortunately, there is no chance of rain on the cards.
Friday
Friday brings more light cloud as the Rally really gets going for day two, with a chance of rain in the morning towards midday, reaching as high as 15%. Again, temperatures are set to be below zero, with lows of -21° and highs of -14°.
Saturday
Light cloud is forecast for day three across the entire day, with no rain expected. Regardless, it will be a slightly warmer day than Friday, with lows of -19° and highs of -13°.
Sunday
Sunday is forecast to stand out amongst the rest of the weekend with some sun expected in the early hours of the morning, from 8am to 10am. Again, there will be no chance of rain until the evening, starting from 6pm, increasing up to a 21% chance.
It is expected to be the warmest day of the weekend with highs of -11° but lows of -20°.
