The 24-race calendar has ended, but all 10 teams will remain in action this week with a post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
Each team will run a ‘mule car’ which will be driven by one or both of its racing drivers. Additionally, the teams will run Pirelli’s new tyres ahead of the 2026 season, which are slightly smaller and narrower than the 2025-spec tyres.
Whilst one car will be driven by the team’s full-time drivers, the other 10 cars will be driven by the team’s selected rookies, as part of a young drivers test.
The tyre manufacturer has brought all but the C1, the hardest of their range, and full wet tyres to the test.
Whilst the test itself won’t have any impact on the 2026 tyres themselves, it will help Pirelli decide the compounds for next season.

Hi, I’m Kamron. I created ApexMotorsports.co.uk in the dying embers of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. It allowed me freedom to write whatever I wanted to write about which was all things motorsports, my passion.
I have put a lot of effort in over the years to keep this website in its best shape and I’ve loved seeing the brand grow consistently, month-on-month, year-on-year. My ambition is to keep watching this brand grow into a primary outlet of news for all things motorsports whilst fueling my desire to pursue a career in sports journalism, specialising in motorsports.
