Will Mercedes bring upgrades to Miami GP?

Formula One’s dominant powerhouse, Mercedes-AMG, have struggled to get to grips of their 2022 championship challenger amidst the new technical regulations, but will they still bring upgrades to Miami?

Currently third in the championship, behind Ferrari and Red Bull Racing respectively, Mercedes have a big deficit to clear in their bid to secure an unprecedented ninth consecutive championship.

With upgrades seemingly in the pipeline to help Mercedes return to the front, Toto Wolff, Team Principle and Mercedes-AMG F1 team’s CEO, said:

“We have found several directions for improving the car, and we will be conducting experiments in Miami to correlate those simulations, and hopefully confirm the development path for the coming races.

“This team has shown its resilience over many years and the difficult start to this season has lit a fire within every team member, determined to put it right.”

The Mercedes garage were initially meant to bring fresh new upgrades, which would see them fight closer at the front, in Imola. However, that was not the case.

In a report by the Daily Express, Wolff said it wouldn’t ‘make any sense’ to bring any upgrades to Imola as they still have to figure out their current issues.

This meant their drivers George Russell and Sir Lewis Hamilton had to endure another grand prix, and a sprint race, without any major upgrades to their car. Russell even complained of back and chest pain, during the race, as a result of the porpoising.

It has already been speculated on social media that the Brackley-based outfit have brought front wing upgrades to the upcoming race weekend, similar to the spec used during the Australian Grand Prix.

The hints dropped by Mercedes, and following ‘experiments,’ point towards the upgrades arriving in Florida this weekend.

That’s it for the article: Will Mercedes bring upgrades to Miami GP? Do you believe Mercedes will finally bring their upgrades to Miami? Let us know in the comments!
